From showroom to warehouse: centralising business operations with Odoo

Palace Interieur · Casablanca, Morocco · Odoo
In 2024, Palace Interieur started working with Modoo Tech to structure its business operations around Odoo.
The objective was to replace a largely fragmented, Excel-based organisation with a central system capable of managing more than 4,000 products, several storage locations and the complete operational flow from purchasing to invoicing.
Modoo Tech worked directly with Palace Interieur on the consulting, implementation and custom developments covered by this case study.
Context
Palace Interieur operates a showroom in Casablanca together with three warehouses, one of which is divided into three separate stock locations.
Its operations involve a large product catalogue, purchasing and imports, inventory management, showroom sales, deliveries, invoicing and payment follow-up.
Before Odoo, much of this information was managed through Excel.
Data was spread across different files and several processes still required manual handling or duplicate data entry.
Managing more than 4,000 products in this way was increasingly difficult to maintain.
The challenge
The project was not simply about replacing spreadsheets with an ERP.
The system had to connect the complete operational chain:
suppliers → purchasing → receipts → inventory → showroom → sales → deliveries → invoicing → payments.
It also had to reflect how sales actually happen on the showroom floor.
Sales representatives accompany customers while they browse a large number of products. Recording selected references and preparing the quotation afterwards created unnecessary handling and duplicate entry.
Inventory visibility across the showroom, warehouses and internal stock locations was another important requirement.
The solution
Modoo Tech structured the environment around Odoo to centralise the main commercial and logistics processes.
Centralised product catalogue
More than 4,000 products are managed through a single product repository.
The same product references can therefore be used throughout the business workflow, from quotations to inventory movements and invoicing.
Sales and invoicing
The commercial workflow links quotations, sales orders, deliveries and invoices.
Since go-live, the Odoo environment has processed more than:
- 2,413 quotations and sales orders;
- 2,304 invoicing documents.
This continuity reduces the need to re-enter the same information across separate files and tools.
Purchasing and supply
Supplier management, purchasing and incoming receipts are also included in the system.
The environment currently includes:
- 75 suppliers;
- 106+ purchase orders;
- 270+ incoming receipts.
Purchasing operations can therefore be followed from the supplier order through to the receipt of goods into stock.
Multi-location inventory
Odoo centralises inventory management across:
- 1 showroom;
- 3 warehouses;
- multiple internal locations, including 3 separate locations inside one warehouse.
Teams can manage stock movements, availability and inventories within the same system.
Building quotations directly on the showroom floor
One of the most business-specific developments focused on the way sales representatives work with customers inside the showroom.
Modoo Tech developed a process allowing a salesperson to use a mobile terminal together with a barcode scanner while accompanying the customer.
When the customer selects a product, the salesperson scans its barcode.
The product is immediately added to the Odoo quotation.
The salesperson can continue through the showroom, scan additional products and progressively build the quotation while staying with the customer.
The workflow becomes:
showroom visit → barcode scan → immediate quotation line → quotation finalisation in Odoo.
This removes an intermediate step in which product references previously had to be noted and entered again after the showroom visit.
Barcode label printing
Product labelling was also integrated into Odoo.
Where label preparation previously involved significant manual work in Excel, teams can now generate and print product labels in batches directly from the Odoo catalogue.
This is particularly useful when working with several thousand product references.
Reporting, traceability and user permissions
With commercial and logistics information centralised, reporting can be based directly on ERP data instead of independent Excel files.
User permissions were also structured according to operational responsibilities.
Sensitive operations can be restricted to authorised users, while Odoo’s activity history provides improved traceability of day-to-day operations.

The impact
The project moved Palace Interieur from a largely fragmented Excel-based organisation to a structured commercial management environment.
Teams now use the same system for products, purchasing, inventory, sales, deliveries, invoicing and payment follow-up.
The customised quotation workflow also brings the ERP directly into the showroom sales process instead of adding administrative work after the customer visit.
Centralisation has additionally improved operational traceability and visibility across the showroom and warehouse network.
